sss Rampal"Ramone" 1985 black Trakehner* stallion 17.1 hh (Ramiro Z x Terika) "Ramone" is a magnificent stallion purchased by Ivia International to enrich our sporthorse breeding program. In his All-SIM glory days, he was a top competitor in all aspects of mid-level eventing. We hope to pass his incredible skills on to the future generations at Ivia International. His foals are graced with finesse and supreme strength, plus a stable character that adds up to create some awesome competitors. One need only glance at his foal record to see this. Ramone was bred a Trakehner*, but is approved for breeding by the KWPN, Oldenburg Verband and the ISR by the Inter-SIM Warmblood Association (no longer exists). He also has an A License in the Inter-SIM Warmblood Association (scroll below for Evaluation results). He's a true gem in the All-SIM sporthorse world! We're grateful to have such a fellow at Ivy Creek. Since arriving at our facilities in 2003, Ramone has only continued to show his worth as a competitor and as a sire. He's been bred to a variety of warmblood mares, only to continue to produce consistantly high quality offspring. * = I realize that in Real Life, a Trakehner cannot be bred from Holsteiners or KWPNs as Ramone is, and that he should technically be a KWPN. (I also am aware that there is a RL KWPN of the same breeding named Rampal, which really should be altered to comply with HF rules. However, he has been a fixture in AllSIM for so many years prior to my purchase that I haven't ever decided what plan of action to take with him.) However, as he is a part of All-SIM history, I did not want to alter his stats & someone else's hard work. So, for the sake of the game, we are going to assume that he somehow, someway was one of the first (and only) Trakehner bred from a Holsteiner/KWPN cross. Ramone's sire, RAMIRO Z, is a RL Holsteiner stallion who has become famous worldwide and is duly called the Euro-stallion of his day. He still ranks number 16 on the 2003 World Breeding Federation jumping stallion rankings and is arguably one of the most influential jumping sires ever. He also has descendants that compete well in dressage. Ramone's dam, TERIKA, is a RL preferant Dutch Warmblood mare. She is a daughter of NATRON, son of the Trakehner stallion JAGERMEESTER (though registered as IDOL) who influenced the KWPN breed. UPDATE 5/31/06: Ramone has officially been retired at the start of 2006 at the age of 21. However, he is still ridden lightly (he would throw a fit if immediately put into an inactive lifestlye as he lives to perform). FOALS: See his page SHOW RECORD: See his page More informationCLICK HERE to view his up-to-date page. Contact us for more information. *Ramone IS currently registered in HORSES FOREVER, so his new owner will simply have to transfer ownership. He is only available to HF members at this time, though.Starting Bid: $2,000 Auction Ends: To be determined Restrictions: None Seller: Florrosa Dressage (dressage division of IIS) Sale Representative: Ivia International Sporthorses

I'm debating just 'euthanizing' this well known stallion for several factors: old age, flaws that prevent him from being realistic, and having had his 'hey day' in SIM already.
I would be interested in hearing any reasons why I should not do so...particularly if there is interest in taking him on yourself.
I offer him for sale on this board with much hesitation for the above reasons. I'd really like to hear your thoughts, good or bad!

Ah poor old guy. I have a question... He's not too old to breed correct? I have been so impressed with my one Trake mix that I have been considering a small line of Trakehner mixes. (Thoroughbred or Arabians mostly). I'd love to bring this old man home with me and use him as a stud a couple times before he is put out to pasture to live out his life. Plus it helps that he was born the same year as I and I'd love to consider him as my mascot. Us old guys (well guy/girl w/e) have to stick together. So yeah! If he has been around for this long in sim why not let him finish it off in style instead of being 'euthanized'? He reminds me of so many of my older time horses that had to be 'euthanized' when I quit these type of sims and it burdens my heart to think of how forgotten they have become and I just don't want the same to happen here. Bid: 2,000

Oh he would definitely not be forgiven. I would leave his page up as a tribute. Realistically, he cannot be a Trakehner; he's actually an almost identical copy of the RL Dutch Warmblood stallion, RAMPAL, which is another reason I'm debating just allowing him to die off - gracefully, and so that no one in SIM gets in trouble, etc., should the RL owners of RAMPAL find him and get angry, with any hope.

Is he registered in HF?? If not why not just change a couple of his stats and let him provide sim with a couple more of his offspring before letting him REALLY retire?
We had a lot of OLD horses in the other game I used to play and we would retire them to pasture let them breed a few more times and then they "rode off over the rainbow bridge"... just a thought.. I wouldn't mind having an older stud like him just to breed to a couple of times...

What about doing a couple quick alterations to his bloodlines and making him less like the other horse but it might make it hard to change all his foals too. Is name is similar too correct? that is a simple change and I'd be willing to do all the work it requires to change his bloodlines and contact the owners of the foals if you know who owns them.

I debated doing all that...many times, trust me. It's just that he's known SO well in AllSIM, or was, that I hate to 'mess with him'. It feels sort of like 'messing with' a part of AllSIM's history. =P Hence my indecision in what to do...
